An All-In-One Subscription for On-Demand Services

The possibilities of the on-demand economy are limitless—limitless in Silicon Valley, anyway, where it feels like thirty new apps or services become available every week. But there’s only so much time, and money, that I want to spend on these services and others that I haven’t tried yet. So, I predict that someone will launch what seems like an obvious idea: a subscription service for on-demand apps.

For consumers, it would mean paying one monthly fee and getting a certain amount of services or goods guaranteed. The subscription fee could cover delivery fees and provide a certain amout of credits members use to pay for actual goods or services.

The subscription could reduce friction around deciding which app to use to get a burrito or to stock up on paper towels. It would also alleviate anxiety around how much consumers are spending. As a friend recently said, “The fewer decisions I have to make, the better.”
