Pools, a startup that develops personalized cryptocurrency tokens for creators, announced a $18 million seed funding round led by Global Founders Capital, with participation from investors including L2 Ventures, Shift, Maveron and Kima Ventures.
The startup joins others in our Creator Economy Database, including Rally and Roll, developing digital assets that online celebrities can use to grant access to exclusive events, bonus content or sell as trendy virtual merchandise. Because the tokens are authenticated on blockchain technologies, owners can’t replicate them—bumping up the perceived value.
