Bitcoin Split Highlights Complexities of Cryptocurrency Market

In recognition of the risks associated with launching an ICO in the U.S., some companies have forbidden U.S. residents from participating in their token sales. Status.im and EOS are two ventures that prevented U.S. IP addresses from accessing their contribution page, but such barriers are easy to bypass using a VPN, which can alter a user’s IP address. Other ICOs simply had checkboxes asking participants whether they lived outside of the U.S., which were ignored by some people determined to buy tokens.
