Steve Doig

Professor of Journalism, Arizona State University

Steve is a professor of data journalism at the Cronkite School of Arizona State University. Before joining ASU in 1996, he worked for 20 years as an investigative reporter and editor for the Miami Herald. His data analysis projects have won the Pulitzer Prize, the Investigative Reporters & Editors Award, the Polk Award for Medical Reporting and other recognition. He's a Vietnam veteran and first learned to program at Dartmouth in 1966 in a class taught by John Kemeny, the co-inventor of BASIC.
