CEO, Chief Creative Officer, Charlex
In 1977 Alexander co-founded Charlex in New York with a friend from college. Using analog tools they helped pioneer the use of electronics to accomplish special effects, animation, and graphics for TV. Up till then, virtually all such work was done by about thirty film-based "optical" houses. That process was costly, laborious and time-consuming. The movement Alexander was part of eventually led to the digital revolution. Today, Charlex continues to thrive but in a much more competitive environment. And with a feeling of nostalgia, it should be noted that only one film optical house still stands in New York.
