Columbia Journalism School
Jonathan is a computational journalist, currently researching, reporting, and teaching at Columbia Journalism School. He created the Overview Project, an open source NLP and visualization system to help investigative journalists report on very large document sets, and is now building Journalist's Workbench, a visual dataflow programming platform. He's written for The New York Times, The Atlantic, Quartz, Wired, Foreign Policy and ProPublica. He was formerly the interactive technology editor at the Associated Press, and a senior computer scientist for Adobe Systems.
