Lee Fixel, a partner at investment firm Tiger Global Management, is bringing Wall Street to Silicon Valley.
Over the past few years, Mr. Fixel, a former emerging markets analyst based in New York, has become a go-to advisor in Silicon Valley and the technology industry. He's shared his global take on the industry with the likes of LinkedIn founder Reid Hoffman, SurveyMonkey chief executive Dave Goldberg and Josh Kushner, the founder of private equity and venture firm Thrive Capital. And Mr. Fixel quietly nabbed high-profile investments in Facebook and LinkedIn before their initial public offerings as well as stakes in blogging company Automattic, digital-ticket service Eventbrite and eyewear retailer Warby Parker.
Mr. Fixel, 33, has broken into the Valley as few other Wall Street managers have, in part because he’s one of the few to take young startup entrepreneurs seriously, according to fellow money managers. While he's intensely private, his profile is rising.
