Creators have long faced problems when other internet users steal their content or don’t give them proper credit. That’s an area where Dylann Berger Katz, who recently joined Animal Capital as a partner, sees opportunity. She’s most interested in investing in “technologies and platforms that allow creators to license out content, that way influencers and musicians and other talent can have their content tagged and attributed,” she said in an interview.
Katz is the venture firm’s second investing partner, joining managing partner Marshall Sandman, who helped launch Animal Capital in March 2021 alongside TikTok megastars Josh Richards, Griffin Johnson and Noah Beck. News of her hiring hasn’t been previously reported.
