The Washington, D.C., metropolitan area is the most likely location of Amazon.com’s next headquarters, according to a survey of The Information subscribers. One-quarter of respondents to our latest poll predicted the second headquarters would be located in the District of Columbia or in the Maryland or Virginia suburbs, three locations among Amazon’s 20 finalists.
Austin came in second in our poll, with 13% of respondents saying Amazon would select the Texas capital for its HQ2. Atlanta garnered third place, with nearly 11% of respondents saying it would win the headquarters sweepstakes. Boston (8%); Denver (6%); Toronto (5%); and Pittsburgh (5%) also were among the top vote-getters, with Newark, N.J., (4%); Philadelphia (4%); Dallas and New York City (both 3%) rounding out the top 11.
