The Information is opening applications for the 2022 Editorial Fellowship. This is a three to six-month program for journalists early in their career to develop their reporting skills by joining a team of award-winning journalists and editors passionate about covering the tech industry and how it is changing society.
The Information is an online publication dedicated to in-depth coverage of the business side of the technology and media industries. Since our launch seven years ago, we’ve received wide acclaim for in-depth investigative reporting that has ranged from revealing safety issues with autonomous vehicles to sexual harassment by venture capitalists. Our team includes veterans of the Wall Street Journal, the New York Times, Bloomberg and other outlets.
We’re a relatively young company with a team of people who work closely together and have a good time doing so. The Information Fellowship is a great opportunity for someone who is curious about journalism and business news to learn what the job is like day to day. Business is one of the biggest sources of power in a society, and explaining its inner workings is vital for the healthy functioning of our democracy.
This is a paid position, based in San Francisco or New York. Remote-working options are available. The role could transition to a full-time job at The Information or other leading news organization and comes with built in mentorship from the team. We strongly encourage people from traditionally underrepresented communities to apply, particularly people of color. We are committed to diversity and to building an inclusive environment for people of all backgrounds and ages.
If you are interested in applying, please send a resume, cover letter and clips to The Information. Selection is made on a rolling basis.
