About Us

The Information, is a San Francisco-based business publication known for original, in-depth reporting about the technology industry. We’re the go-to daily read for the most important people in technology and business and are building a one-of-a kind community of subscribers. We have a sustainable business, plenty of capital and big ambitions to grow our business and team in 2016.

Job Description

Are you an analyst who wants to break out and build your own brand? An engineer who loves storytelling?

The Information is looking for a passionate, analytical-minded interactive reporter or engineer to continue growing our data journalism and interactive content. Recent projects like our Future List have gotten incredible traction and we have big plans to ramp up our graphics and projects.

This role doesn’t fit into traditional job categories. At its core, it is a job for someone who loves data and is interested in how people consume information. It’s also a chance to get in on the ground floor of a fast-growing media startup.

Responsibilities

  • Work directly with both our Editorial and Engineering teams to build interactive, data-driven editorial content.
  • He or she would be responsible for helping source, analyze and design visual representations of exclusive data for our subscribers.

Requirements

  • Candidates should be analytical (we love Excel) and be familiar with basic business metrics and methods of statistical analysis. Accounting and finance acumen is a big plus.
  • Experience with data visualization tools such as d3.js or similar.

Benefits

  • The position comes with a competitive salary and bonus, and full benefits.
  • The role is based in San Francisco.

If this sounds interesting, please send a resume and cover letter to [email protected].

We'd love to hear from you.
