Circle CEO Says Midterms Could Be Bad for Crypto

One thing I’ve learned since I started covering this beat is that there is always a blockchain angle—always. So last night, as America waited to see whether the Democrats would flip Congress, we were keeping tabs on a different race: blockchain advocate Jared Polis’ bid for Colorado governor. Mr. Polis, a Democrat who ran partially on a platform of making Colorado a hub for blockchain innovation, won by a decisive margin.

But that’s not all. In West Virginia, 144 voters registered in the state but living overseas cast ballots using a blockchain-based phone app. We touched on what the midterm results might mean for crypto in our Q4 conference call today, and you can find some highlights below. Plus, we dive deeper into Governor-elect Polis’ plans to bring blockchain to Colorado.
