Substack Founders Prepare for Competition from Facebook, Twitter
The news last week that both Facebook and Twitter are jumping into the newsletter market marked a big moment for Substack, the subscription newsletter startup that’s been a hit with writers looking to go independent. “Of course it’s scary,” Substack’s co-founder and CEO Chris Best said, adding that he had long seen competition from big companies as inevitable. And he sees Substack as having a big advantage because, unlike the tech giants, it provides a direct connection between readers and writers.
