Circle, which issues the popular stablecoin USD Coin, has largely been insulated from the crypto market chaos of recent months. Its revenue has been growing thanks to rising interest rates, and it’s looking to expand into new markets.
Circle co-founder and CEO Jeremy Allaire likens the firm’s structure to a hybrid between a tech company and a traditional financial firm. “There’s two big bodies of work,” Allaire told The Information. “There’s the products and technology and there’s everything that goes into being a global-scale, regulated financial company.”
The Information’s org chart maps out 86 top executives at Circle, from the firm’s top engineers to its top compliance officers. The firm has tapped former Meta Platforms executives to lead marketing and former Citi leaders to manage the company’s treasury. In total, the company has 940 employees.
