Discord, the messaging app commonly used by gamers, is still thriving after the peak of the pandemic shutdowns, when people were hunkered down in their homes, looking to connect over the internet. That’s according to a new report from my colleague Mark Matousek, who detailed the startup’s impressive business growth after it rejected Microsoft’s $12 billion acquisition offer early last year.
In the first quarter of this year, the seven-year-old messaging app had 183 million monthly active users and its revenue exceeded $100 million, Mark reported. That translates to at least $0.55 in quarterly revenue per user.
