We are delighted to announce new roles for our reporters covering two of the most important beats in business: OpenAI and AI dealmaking.

Sri Muppidi, who joined us late last year to cover venture capital and startups, will continue and expand on her strong coverage of the business of the biggest AI startups to become a beat reporter on OpenAI and Anthropic.

This year, Sri has regularly taken The Information’s readers deep inside the financial performance and projections of OpenAI, Anthropic and other fast-growing AI firms, as well as OpenAI’s relationships with key partners like Microsoft. This track record gives her a head start on covering the two leading AI firms during their next stage of growth.

Valida Pau joins as a Wall Street reporter focused on deals, including takeovers of AI startups by large tech companies and private equity firms, as well as IPOs. Valida, who previously interned as a Bloomberg News deals reporter, joined The Information earlier this summer as an intern. She’s quickly become a reliable provider of tips on AI deals and has broken news on Character.AI, chips startups Cerebras and Rivos and AI model maker Cohere.

Valida joins our roster of reporters covering finance and venture capital, which recently expanded to include deals reporter Katie Roof and includes deputy bureau chief for finance Cory Weinberg, venture reporter Natasha Mascarenhas, finance reporter Miles Kruppa, crypto reporter Yueqi Yang and financial columnist Anita Ramaswamy.
