Mr. Clayman left Vimeo, the IAC-owned video streaming site, in January. He previously worked at both News Corp and at Viacom’s MTV.
As well as creating video content for Snapchat, Vertical Networks will launch a channel called Brother for Snapchat's Discover feature. The male-focused channel is part of an effort by Snapchat to bring more men onto the platform. Snapchat has taken a stake in Vertical Networks, according to people familiar with the matter.
Vertical Networks hopes to eventually make content for other platforms as well. It has an office in Venice, Calif., near the Snapchat headquarters.
