Earlier this week, Magic Leap disclosed some new information about its upcoming headset at a conference held by the International Society for Optics and Photonics. In particular, Magic Leap detailed plans for the Magic Leap 2’s controller and operating system that make the device sound promising.

While pivoting to enterprise AR to and reset its public image (so long, whimsical leaper logo), Magic Leap is aiming to launch a slimmer and altogether more capable new headset with some unique features in the mix. But compared to its first device and some of the promises that accompanied it, Magic Leap is making more restrained choices regarding its controller and operating system that could actually help Magic Leap 2 attract developers and customers in the long run.
