Tensions, always simmering between the two, flared this week. They were responding to a series of reports that companies like Amazon.com, Google and Microsoft had passed on buying the company. Those stories followed Amir’s report that said Lyft had discussed an acquisition with General Motors but decided to solicit other bids from strategics.
