I was at Snap’s NewFronts presentation at the Rose Theater at Lincoln Center in New York City today. It’s the first time Snap has hosted an in-person presentation at NewFronts, a four day-long showcase where media and technology companies present their upcoming products and features to advertisers, hosted annually by advertising company IAB. For its debut this year, Snap brought out co-founder and chief executive officer Evan Spiegel, chief business officer Jeremi Gorman and chief marketing officer Kenny Mitchell—as well as some star power.
TikTok performer Addison Rae took the stage to say a few short words about her Snap Original show, blew the audience air kisses and walked off. Gymnast Simone Biles sat down with Spiegel to announce her upcoming Snap Original show, in which she will try new things she hasn’t done before, like DJ-ing and beekeeping. Others like “Queer Eye” host Karamo Brown, beauty creator Manny Gutierrez and model and singer Loren Gray also made an appearance.
