Substack is offering a new, two-month fellowship program for emerging writers who are trying to increase their paid subscriber base on the newsletter publishing platform, the company exclusively tells The Information.
The fellowship provides a $7,000 financial grant and perks such as proofreading, access to Getty Images, health care stipends and mentorship opportunities from other writers.
The program is available to those who have participated in Substack Grow, a crash course for writers, which The Information first reported on in July. That initiative included a free, six-session course over Zoom to help writers build loyal followings and earn their first $1,000 in subscriptions. A Substack spokesperson said 735 people participated in Grow.
