Three new creator economy unicorns. Two startups running meme accounts. Several that incorporate crypto. And $1 billion in first-quarter investments. These are some of the highlights from The Information’s newly updated Creator Economy Database.
It now features 175 global private companies in this sector, ranging from services that creators use to mix music to live shopping apps to startups that mint the personalized digital assets known as NFTs. That’s up from about 100 startups in October and 50 since we launched the database in June. U.S. startups alone have raised more than $6 billion in funding from January 2021 until now.
