YouTube’s answer to TikTok, Shorts, is drawing over 30 billion views per day, double the total late last year. Now, the Google streaming-video unit has to figure out how to make money from that audience while also seeking new streams of revenue to stave off slowing growth.
Those challenges come as YouTube refreshes its leadership ranks following departures of at least 10 senior executives since November, according to an analysis of leadership changes in the unit by The Information. All of the departing executives had worked at YouTube for at least six years.
