Private equity firms including Thoma Bravo, Vista Equity Partners and Francisco Partners have approached data analytics software company Sumo Logic expressing interest in a possible acquisition, according to a person familiar with the matter. This adds Sumo to the current list of possible enterprise software buyout targets.
Thoma Bravo and Vista are among private equity firms that have lately been on a software-buying spree, taking advantage of low valuations to expand in an area of longstanding interest to them. Thoma Bravo, for instance, has acquired Coupa Software, SailPoint and Anaplan for a total of $25 billion within the past year. The firm recently raised more than $32 billion across several funds for further acquisitions.
