On Tuesday we published our first Twitch org chart. It charts out more than 50 people at the Amazon-owned video streaming unit led by chief executive officer Emmett Shear. One takeaway: There’s been an exodus among the ranks of creator leadership at Twitch this year. That reduced the number of senior leaders who can liaise with creators, some of whom were unhappy with Twitch’s decision to cut pay for top streamers. This all means chief content officer Laura Lee will have her work cut out for her when she takes over later this year.
The shake-up in Twitch’s creator leadership began when chief content officer Michael Aragon and head of creator development Marcus Graham, better known by online name djWHEAT, departed the company early in the year. Then in September Constance Knight, senior vice president of global creators, also announced her departure from the company just over a year after joining. That means senior roles tasked with creator partnerships and developments have been unfilled.
