Amazon Considers Pulling HQ2 Site From NYC

Amazon is reconsidering whether to expand its New York City presence, as part of its HQ2 move, following a backlash from local politicians, according to The Washington Post.

New York politicians, unions and other community groups have scrutinized the economic incentives offered by both the state and the city to Amazon, worth as much as $3 billion. According to the Post story, Amazon hasn’t made any decision yet, leaving open the possibility that people involved are putting around the threat of Amazon pulling out to get local officials to cool off on their opposition. As much as certain politicians in NYC are criticizing the deal, it’s hard to imagine they’ll actually pass up the opportunity to bring 25,000 new jobs to the area.
