WarnerMedia has appointed longtime CAA executive Christy Haubegger to a newly created role of executive vice president, “chief of enterprise inclusion.” (Not one of the snappier titles to come out of Hollywood). Her job is to help the company increase the diversity of its workforce and to make investments to ensure WarnerMedia’s outlets draw diverse audiences. She’ll report to WarnerMedia CEO John Stankey.
Haubegger was instrumental at CAA in increasing the agency’s representation of women and people of color. In recent months, WarnerMedia has garnered criticism for its lack of female leadership, especially as the company searches for a replacement for departed Warner Brothers CEO Kevin Tsujihara. In a statement, Stankey said WarnerMedia sees an opportunity to generate growth by coming up with programming “that engages underserved audiences.” That means building a “more representative workforce.”
