Google’s parent Alphabet had warned that the pandemic would make the second quarter a difficult one for the company’s ad business. On Thursday, it said that prediction bore out. Alphabet’s $38.3 billion in revenue fell 2% for the three months ended in June from the same period last year. The downturn was primarily driven by its ads businesses, which dropped 8% compared from the year-ago period....
