Trump administration officials will sit down with top tech leaders at the White House late next week, including the CEOs of Microsoft, Google and Oracle, the Wall Street Journal reports. As of Thursday, neither Facebook nor Amazon were on the list of attendees.
The panel is expected to talk about “bold, transformational ideas” that can help ensure U.S. business leadership in the future. Mr. Trump has had a testy Twitter relationship with several technology companies, including Google and Amazon. Still, the theme of the meeting next week suggests the tech leaders will not be walking into an ambush. At the very least, it should be friendlier than the reception Google CEO Sundar Pichai faces next week when he is questioned on topics like political bias by a congressional committee.
