Viacom Signs Deal With T-Mobile

Viacom has signed a deal with T-Mobile that puts its cable channels, including MTV, Nickelodeon and Comedy Central, on the cellular carrier’s yet-to-be-launched TV service, marking Viacom’s first U.S. mobile deal and allowing Viacom CEO Bob Bakish to live up to his promise to improve distribution for his company’s channels.

Mr. Bakish, who formerly headed the international business at Viacom, made mobile deals a big part of the company’s strategy abroad as more viewers turn to their devices to watch their favorite shows. He has had his sights on a U.S. mobile deal for some time.
