Airbnb bought Luckey Homes, a French company that does property-management services such as cleaning, maintenance and photography for people renting out their homes or apartments on travel-booking platforms like Airbnb. The company didn’t disclose terms. It is likely a small deal with potentially significant implications because Airbnb has traditionally relied on partnerships with property managers without making acquisitions. It is now bringing a property manager in house that operates in Paris, its most lucrative market. That could help with one of Airbnb’s biggest goals: expanding its inventory of high-quality places to stay.
