Over the past year Apple has been building a roster of original video content, but it has been unclear how exactly they will deliver it to consumers. CNBC reports that Apple will be offering the original content for free through a new version of its Apple TV app launching early next year. The new version of the app will come preinstalled on Apple devices such as the iPhone, iPad and Apple TV. Apple has talked about making its TV app available on third-party hardware, The Information has previously reported. That may not be the best strategy if this content is free since it won’t help Apple sell devices.
