Richard Parsons Steps Down as Interim CBS Chairman

Longtime entertainment executive Strauss Zelnick became interim CBS chairman suddenly on Sunday, after the previously interim chairman Richard Parsons stepped down for health reasons less than a month after taking the position.

Mr. Zelnick, a former BMG executive who for several years has been chairman and CEO of videogame firm Take-Two Interactive, now has the task of guiding the board as it looks for a permanent replacement for Leslie Moonves as CEO. The rapid exit of Mr. Parsons, a former Time Warner CEO who said he was suffering from multiple myeloma, is the latest chapter in what has been a rocky year for CBS as it has dealt with sexual harassment allegations facing Mr. Moonves. Those allegations led to the executive’s departure abut a month ago.
