Bogomil Balkansky, a Google Cloud vice president in charge of recruiting apps who is a longtime lieutenant of Google Cloud CEO Diane Greene, has left the company, according to a person with knowledge of the matter. He previously worked for Greene at VMware and Bebop, the cloud startup Google acquired in November 2015 for $380 million.
Balkansky has been the public face of Google Cloud’s efforts to establish itself in the market for cloud recruiting software, which included last July’s launch of Hire, an application aimed at speeding the recruiting process for small and medium businesses.
Mr. Balkansky confirmed his departure in an email and said he is taking time off to travel. A Google Cloud spokesman didn’t respond to requests for comment on whether the cloud unit plans to replace him.
