SoftBank named public relations veteran Gary Ginsberg as an executive vice president of corporate marketing and communications in New York, reporting to both CEO Masayoshi Son and COO Marcelo Claure. Ginsberg gives SoftBank a connection into the New York media world, as well as someone with political ties. Ginsberg was most recently at Time Warner, where he worked for former CEO Jeff Bewkes since 2010. Before that, he spent 11 years working for Rupert Murdoch at News Corp (before that company split in two.)
Earlier in his career, Ginsberg worked for the Clinton White House. He worked with the late John Kennedy Jr at George magazine.
