Peloton Raising $550 Million

Peloton, maker of stationary bikes that stream video, is raising $550 million from TCV and other investors at a valuation of $4.15 billion, the Wall Street Journal reports. The company was considered a possible IPO candidate for this year, but it now appears that next year is more likely. The leap in valuation, from $1.25 billion last year, and the founder’s comments that the company is on pace for $700 million in revenue set a high bar ahead of a possible public offering. Previous backers include several investors that are also active in public markets, including Tiger Global, Fidelity and Wellington Management.
