Walmart Offers Half-Off Membership Plans to Shoppers on Government Assistance

Walmart said on Thursday that it would offer half-price memberships to shoppers on government assistance. The offering, called Walmart+ Assist, will cost $49 for an annual membership. Walmart+, which typically costs $98 each year, is the retailer’s competitor to Amazon’s Prime membership, which costs $139 annually and offers perks including free two-day shipping and access to Amazon’s video...
