About the Speakers:
Helen Branswell, an infectious diseases and public health reporter, has been STAT’s lead correspondent on the coronavirus outbreak. She has covered numerous outbreaks, including Ebola and Zika. In 2003, she covered the SARS outbreak in Toronto, where she was working at the time. In 2004, she was embedded at the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention as part of a fellowship. Dr. Phil Levy leads qualitative and quantitative economic research at Flexport informed by public policy data and proprietary data. Prior to joining Flexport, Dr. Levy served as Senior Fellow on the Global Economy at Chicago Council on Global Affairs and Adjunct Professor of Strategy at Northwestern Kellogg. Previously, Dr. Levy served on the President's Council of Economic Advisors as Senior Economist for Trade and as a member of the policy planning staff for the U.S. Department of State.
Tomasz Tunguz is a venture capitalist at Redpoint Ventures. He is also a board member of Looker, ERPLY, Electric imp, inc., AxialMarket, Quantifind, Expensify, and more. Prior to joining Redpoint, Tomasz was the product manager for Google's social media monetization team, including the Google-MySpace partnership.
