Verizon runs a cash-rich business. That gives it plenty of fuel to make a good run during a bidding war for a digital media business, many of which, like Vox and Vice and BuzzFeed may come on the block. So while the company is still suffering a bit of indigestion over the Yahoo acquisition, assuming its appetite returns it could be a potential buyer for a digital ads business like Twitter. Most likely, though, Mr. McAdam will keep his sights set on the small to medium bets in media and infrastructure.—Tom Dotan
