Meta Platforms, formerly known as Facebook, is a technology conglomerate based in Menlo Park, Calif. The company owns and operates Facebook, Instagram, Threads and WhatsApp, among other products and services. Meta is one of the world’s most valuable companies and is among the 10 largest publicly traded corporations in the U.S. It is considered one of the Big Five, alongside Google parent company Alphabet, Amazon, Apple and Microsoft.
