Pengxinwei IC Manufacturing is building a semiconductor manufacturing plant near Huawei’s headquarters and is purchasing foreign chip-making equipment.

The New York Times said that some Chinese firms and government research labs would be added to a new list of entities facing U.S. government restrictions like the ones that hobbled telecom manufacturer Huawei.

The move to shut down the service in China was done because of low usage, the company said.

Details of the settlement between JD.com’s founder Richard Liu and Liu Jingyao, a student who accused him of rape in 2018, where not revealed.

China has been ramping up accusations that the U.S. is hacking its systems.
