Chinese carmaker Geely said it had signed a preliminary agreement with Faraday Future and would invest in the startup's SPAC.

The announcement comes soon after the Chinese ride-hailing giant said it had raised $1.4 billion for its new freight business.

TikTok's owner, which had kept some 2,000 employees in India hoping that a ban in one of its biggest market by users would be lifted, told employees it's not hopeful of a change.

Didi had aimed to raise only $400 million but was able to raise far more from investors.

The company is in early discussions with a consortium backed by the Shanghai government as is struggled with U.S. sanctions.
