Splunk has hired enterprise tech industry veteran Carrie Palin as its new chief marketing officer, the company confirmed in an email. She will start on Feb. 19, filling a role that had been vacant since September when ex-Splunk CMO Brian Goldfarb quietly departed.
Ms. Palin joins Splunk after a brief stint at SendGrid, an email marketing company that was recently acquired by Twilio for around $3 billion. Ms. Palin was previously CMO and SVP at Box, and also spent more than 15 years at Dell and IBM in sales and marketing roles. She will report to Susan St. Ledger, Splunk’s president of worldwide field operations.
Splunk, which has a market capitalization of $19 billion, sells analytics software that can make sense of large sets of data.
