Jason Dean

Jason Dean is San Francisco Bureau Chief at The Information, guiding coverage of some of the world’s largest companies. He joined in March 2026 from the Washington Post, where he helped launch its WP Intelligence business-insights service as its Lead AI & Tech Analyst. He previously spent more than 25 years at the Wall Street Journal, including a decade leading its technology bureau when it earned multiple Loebs and other major journalism awards and shared in the 2025 Pulitzer Prize in National Reporting. Earlier he was a reporter and editor for the Journal in China, where he helped lead a team that won the 2007 Pulitzer in International Reporting and the 2010 Overseas Press Club Award for best business reporting.
